The fabric is a luxurious double-knit material known
in Japan as “danboru knit.”
Danboru knit is made by connecting the outer and inner
layers with interlaced yarns, creating a softly structured,
three-dimensional texture—its name comes from its
resemblance to the layered structure of cardboard
(in English, it is called “double knit”).
Because air is trapped between the two layers, the fabric
offers a light, fluffy softness and excellent heat retention.
It is also lightweight, durable, water-resistant, and
quick-drying after washing.
While cotton or nylon blends are commonly used for
double-knit fabrics, tkio chose 100% polyester for superior
functionality—resistant to wrinkles and deformation,
gentle on the skin, and easy to care for even after repeated
washing.
